Dhaka, Bangladesh —Computer Network Systems Limited (CNS) proudly announces the award of a major contract under the Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE) project, which is funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Wage Earners’ Welfare Board (WEWB). This project aims to support the reintegration of returning migrants who have been affected by various challenges, including the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

Under the contract, CNS will design, develop, implement, and support a Management Information System (MIS) to streamline and enhance the services provided to returning migrants. This system will be pivotal in managing the comprehensive data required to support migrants in their reintegration into the domestic economy.

"We are honoured to contribute our technology and expertise to such a crucial project that will have a direct impact on the lives of thousands of returning migrants in Bangladesh," said Kamrul Islam, Senior Executive Vice President at CNS.

The RAISE project is a multi-faceted initiative that includes the establishment of Migrant Workers Welfare Centres across Bangladesh. These centres offer crucial support services such as counselling, financial assistance, and job placement, which are essential for migrants returning to the country. The MIS developed by CNS will ensure that these services are delivered efficiently and effectively, with real-time monitoring and reporting capabilities.

The project also underscores CNS role in advancing digital transformation for Public Sector organisations, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to leveraging technology for social good. “This project not only aligns with our expertise in software development but also with our mission to make a positive impact on society,” added Mr Islam.

As CNS embarks on this important Project, the company looks forward to a successful collaboration with the WEWB and other stakeholders involved in the RAISE project. This initiative is expected to set a new benchmark for how technology can facilitate significant social change, particularly in supporting vulnerable populations in times of crisis.
